Art Under the Stars, Mardi Gras Night! The year's biggest fundraiser is slated for Saturday February 20th, from 6 to 10pm at Agave of Sedona. There will be live music by Chris Spheeris and Eric Miller, a silent auction, raffle, and delectable food and wine by Agave of Sedona.

Desert Star Community School’s 2nd Annual Art Under The Stars silent art auction fundraising event will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Agave of Sedona Event Center in West Sedona at 1146 W. Hwy 89A (near the intersection of Airport Rd.) from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

This year's theme is Mardi Gras Night! Dress up and wear your favorite mask or purchase one there. Last year’s event art auction was a huge success raising over $14,000 for this unique Waldorf inspired charter elementary school, located in Cornville. The goal for Mardi Gras Night! is to raise $25,000 for much needed expansion of school facilities.

At Desert Star, children grades K through 7 enjoy a curriculum which honors and respects childhood while offering a challenging academic curriculum enriched by the arts. In this age of pervasive media and technological influences, Desert Star brings a unique, balanced educational alternative that draws upon both age-old traditions and cutting edge research to determine how to best teach children and meet their needs.

While deciding what to bid on in the silent auction, enjoy live music by renowned local recording artists Chris Spheeris, and Eric Miller. Chris has been composing and recording soundtracks to an inspired life for the past two decades. Spheeris’ music has appeared in TV shows, documentary films, Olympic competitions, miss universe pageants, commercials, NPR radio, satellite and syndicated programs, pop songs, and of course, in the music systems of millions.
