Dear Desert Star students and families, another year has drawn to a close and I wish you all a wonderful summer. I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Ms.Suzanne and I can't wait to finish and start new projects in handwork and art in the Fall. We would love to see any projects you have done at home. New Woodworking Shop Improvements!

In February, Desert Star was awarded a grant by the Yavapai County Education Foundation. The $1,000 matching grant supported completion of our new Woodworking Shop. The grant funds were used to purchase specialized locking storage cabinets for tools and supplies. Woodworking Teacher,"Coach" Cadigan, was thrilled with the outcome saying  "Now the students can easily access tools close to their work area and learn directly about the care and storage of woodworking tools".

Hello PRECIOUS DESERT STARS! You are missed! I hope you are taking care of your “me” and sharing your kind, fun-loving hearts with others. My little puppy and I are playing outside, sending you air hugs and smiles and day-dreaming about the time when we can all play together again at school!

Always, your - Mz. Rhonda

Middle School Math

I am so impressed with the work that the 6th, 7th and 8th grades have done these past few months in Geometric Drawing, Algebra and Geometry. It wasn't easy working remotely but slowly but surely we mastered the medium. I wish you all a restful summer. 6th and 7th grades I look forward to teaching you next year. 8th grade shoot for the stars!

Greetings to all my dear students and families! I have missed you all very much during this time of staying home. I planted a small garden with celery, cilantro, green onions and a several types of flowers. My rose bush was full of beautiful roses, but some hungry javelinas came by and ate many branches off the bush! I learned a new lesson about raising up my plants that might be yummy treats for hungry critters. I hope you are all well and I look forward to seeing your wonderful, bright faces in the new school year.

- Hasta luego, Señora Goodwin
